Team Yuple, composed of 4th-semester Computer Engineering students from Khwopa Engineering College, achieved a remarkable victory as the IoT track winners at the KU Hack Fest. The team, led by Ashutosh Dhungana and Lhasang Tulku Lama, presented their innovative project RecycSmart, an IoT-powered smart dustbin integrated with AI object detection technology. This solution aims to revolutionize waste management by automatically sorting recyclable and non-recyclable waste, promoting sustainable habits. Their win highlights the growing potential of IoT and AI in tackling real-world environmental challenges. The event was held at Kathmandu University from 15-17 November 2024.
