Two KhEC alumni – Dr. Debesh Jha and Er. Shree Ram Khaitu – delivered presentations at a program organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 8 September 2022, with the objective of informing concerned students about new trends in technology and maintaining an academic connection between current students and the KhEC alumni.
Dr. Debesh Jha presented on the topic “Artificial Intelligence Transforming the Future of Medicine.”. Debesh Jha, PhD is a research associate with the Department of Radiology, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, USA. He received his Bachelor's degree in 2013 from Khwopa Engineering College. In this presentation, he provided knowledge about the needs and importance of AI in medical treatments. He pointed out that even though treatment is more precisely done, some of the facts may be missed out by a human. To overcome this type of critical error AI can be implemented in the diagnosis and treatment. According to him, AI is a very essential factor in every field nowadays. He also talked about AI applications in reproduction, Alzheimer’s Disease, ENDO-AID, Colon polyps, Mammography, and many more.
Similarly, Er. Shree Ram Khaitu presented on the topic “Latest Trends of Telecommunication in Nepal”. He is a Telecom Engineer in Nepal Telecom. He provided brief knowledge of Telecommunication systems in a real-life scenario. According to him, Artificial Intelligence is the most important component having a huge significance in the field of Telecommunication systems. He also put forward his words in future missions and ambitions in telecommunication via GI (General Interface), E-sim, BI (Business Intelligence), and SON (Self-Organizing Networks).
The students of the Electronics Department actively participated in the program and benefitted from it. The program was held in the presence of the Principal of Khwopa Engineering College Er. Sujan Maka, Vice- Principal Er. Rabindra Phoju, Head of the Department Er. Yogesh Bajracharya, and Deputy Head of the Department Er. Ram Nakarmi, other faculty members.
In the same program, certificates were distributed to the participants of Arduino training. Fourty-seven students completed the 15-hour-long Arduino training. Raunak Joshi and Krishna Prasad Chaulagain also alumni of KhEC, were the trainers of the training.
