The Department of Civil Engineering has organized 6-days’ training on Quality Assurance and Quality Control from 18th to 24th Magh, 2080 to the Department faculties. The training was conducted by Er. Jagadiswar Man Shrestha (Former Senior Divisional Engineer, Department of Irrigation, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal). Altogether 12 faculties participated in the training.
The training was aimed at providing comprehensive knowledge on quality assurance and quality control processes in the projects and construction sites. Er. Shrestha delivered intensive lecture sessions on Quality Assurance and Quality Control of RCC Structures highlighting the importance of quality of structures, quality requirements, and related standards of engineering materials, testing methods and to attain the excellent quality of the construction work in accordance to technical specifications. The participants were guided to field demonstration at the construction site at college premise.
Mr. Shrestha presented in-depth practical knowledge and ideas on materials, earthquake engineering, professional ethics and Tunnel Boring Machines operated in Nepal. The training concluded with the site visit at Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Multi-purpose Project in Sindhuli district.
