Department of Electronics and Communication of Khwopa Engineering College has successfully organized “One Day Workshop on 3D Printing” on 6th January 2021. A total of eleven participants from all the departments of Khwopa Engineering College and Khwopa College of Engineering participated in the workshop. The first session includes the introduction and operation of UP Box+ 3D printer and the second section covers the introduction to CAD and Basic 3D modeling. Participants printed the logo of Khwopa Engineering College using a 3D printer.
There are two 3D printers in the college. These printers are purchased from the Cash prize won by students in the different national robot competition. These printers have been used for making different parts of robots in the robot competition, 3D modeling by architecture students, and different research purposes.
3D printing is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a CAD model or a digital 3D model. The term "3D printing" can refer to a variety of processes in which material is deposited, joined, or solidified under computer control to create a three-dimensional object, with the material being added together, typically layer by layer. In the current scenario, 3D printing or additive manufacturing has been used in manufacturing, medical, industrial, and sociocultural sectors which facilitate 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing to become successful commercial technology.
