On 30 Kartik 2079, the fifth semester students of Bachelor in Electronics & Communication Engineering made a field observation of Sagarmatha Television (STV) Station situated in Baneshwar, Kathmandu. The field visit was devised by the department as a part of syllabus to provide a practical knowledge to the concerned students about transmission media, concept of broadcast and antenna.
During the field visit, students got to observe Live Telecasting Room, Video Editing Room, Frequency Converter and Uplink Station and Rooftop with Antenna as set up by Sagarmatha Television as its major technical components.
Sagarmatha Television is a free aired 24 hour News and Current Affairs Private Satellite Television Network from Nepal. Moreover, STV is uplinked on LeoSAT-3 Satellite, can be downlinked and viewed across Asia, Australia, East Africa and Eastern Europe.
Hence, the participant students got to learn through the visit technical insights from the real working field strengthening their theoretical knowledge obtained in the classroom.
